ABOUT Me

As long as I can remember, I always liked art. My mother fostered appreciation for all forms of it. I grew up in Lithuania and Russia, and my childhood was filled with trips to galleries, symphony hall and theaters.

I chose Chemistry as my first profession. Only years later did I realize that that my love for chemical formulas was the love of an Artist - the way they fit together, the form, the shape.

One day, more than 20 years ago, my son left his paints on the table and ran off to play. I picked up his brush, not knowing that it would take me on an incredible journey I never dreamed of!

I've studied with well-known and recognized artists and teachers from around the world. Among them Alvaro Castagnet, David Taylor, Cheng-Khee Chee, Frank Webb, James Toogood, Jean Grastorf, David Slonim, Kim English. My favorite masters are John Singer Surgent, Andrew Wyeth, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Lucian Freud and many Russians.

I admire paintings that are spontaneous and free, and infuse the viewer with a feeling of what they see. I enjoy both ethereal feeling of watercolor, as well as substantiality of oils.

I am a Signature Member of Watercolor Society of IndianaHoosier Salon and Indiana Artist Club. I have entered numerous state exhibits, and won awards, including "Best of Show"  at the Watercolor Society of Indiana 2015 Annual Juried Exhibit at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. My paintings and commission works found their home in many private collections.

In the past 10 years I have built strong group of students and following, in US and abroad. I love teaching watercolors and acrylics, sharing my passion for art and spontaneity of water medium. Contact me for details on the class schedule and future exhibits.

For the time being, I divide my time between my homes in Indiana and in Stuttgart (Germany), and places in between, traveling, painting and studying, exhibiting and teaching.

I am represented by "The Venue" gallery in Bloomington, IN
